Envocore selected for Puerto Rico water infrastructure modernization program

Power Sustainable Portfolio Company Envocore Selected for Major Puerto Rico Water Infrastructure Modernization Program

PR Newswire

MONTREAL and NEW YORK , Sept. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Power Sustainable announced today that its portfolio company, Envocore LLC (Envocore), a leading provider of energy-efficiency, water-infrastructure and utility-services solutions, has been awarded a major role in the island-wide water-meter modernization program of the Puerto Rico Aqueduct and Sewer Authority (PRASA).

Under a five-year, $129 million contract, Envocore will support the replacement of approximately 1.5 million ultrasonic water meters and the deployment of advanced metering infrastructure endpoints across Puerto Rico's 78 municipalities.

The program is expected to provide PRASA with more timely and accurate information regarding water consumption across its system. Enhanced meter data can support earlier leak detection, reduce avoidable water loss, improve billing accuracy and more effective water-resource management. Envocore will provide the field deployment and program-management capabilities required to support implementation across Puerto Rico.

"This award reflects Envocore's ability to deliver complex, essential infrastructure projects at scale," said Martin Aares, Managing Partner and Co-Head of Power Sustainable Decarbonization (PSD) Private Equity. "The company has built a great platform, combining deep technical expertise, strong customer relationships and a proven track record in energy and water infrastructure. We are pleased to partner with Francis and the Envocore team as they build on that foundation and pursue the company's next phase of growth."

"Reliable water infrastructure is fundamental to both economic prosperity and environmental sustainability," said Karine Khatcherian, Managing Partner and Co-Head of PSD Private Equity. "Advanced metering gives utilities better information to manage water consumption and reduce avoidable water loss, supporting greater resource efficiency and more reliable service. We are proud to support Envocore as it helps PRASA modernize essential water infrastructure and strengthen the long-term resilience of communities across Puerto Rico."

"We are honoured to partner with PRASA on the execution of this important initiative," said Francis Wheeler, Chief Executive Officer of Envocore. "Our team brings extensive experience delivering complex meter and infrastructure programs with a strong focus on safety, quality and customer service. We look forward to helping PRASA improve system visibility and manage Puerto Rico's water resources more effectively."

PSD Private Equity invested in Envocore in January 2026 to support the company's continued growth in energy efficiency, water infrastructure and utility services. Envocore has completed more than 3,800 projects across North America, helping utilities, municipalities, energy-service companies and other customers modernize infrastructure and improve resource efficiency.
