Upside Gold launches field program at Kena Gold-Copper Project

Highlights

Upside has launched its next phase of field exploration at Kena, with work underway across four priority polymetallic mineralized areas: Euphrates, Venus-Juno, Three Friends and the northwestern extent of the Kena Gold Zone, to define and prioritize targets for future drilling.

Field work at the Euphrates area will build on historical production at two adits averaging 46.9 g/t Au and 249 g/t Ag and Upside’s 2025 surface sampling results of up to 26.1 g/t Au and 179 g/t Ag, with additional work aimed at refining targets in an area with no known historical drilling.

The recently acquired Venus-Juno claims, with reported historical production of approximately 5,411 tonnes averaging 19.8 g/t Au and 17.7 g/t Ag from extensive underground and surface workings, will also be advanced as part of the program.

The program will also advance Three Friends cluster of polymetallic showings and evaluate the continuance of the gold potential of the northwestern extent of the Kena Gold Zone, further developing Upside’s pipeline of prospective targets across the broader Kena system.

CALGARY, Alberta – TheNewswire - September 9, 2026 – Upside Gold Corp. (“Upside” or the “Company”) (CSE: UG) (FSE: 47I) (OTCQB: UGODF) is pleased to announce the commencement of a field exploration program at its Kena Gold-Copper Project (“Kena” or the “Project”) in southeastern British Columbia. The program is focused on advancing and prioritizing prospective targets for future drilling across several areas of the broader Kena system.

Field work is underway across the Euphrates, Venus-Juno and Three Friends polymetallic prospects, as well as the northwestern extent of the Kena Gold Zone. The program is intended to further evaluate known mineralized areas, refine the Company’s geological interpretation and identify priority targets for future exploration and drilling.

At the Euphrates area, historical records report production of 307 tonnes grading 46.9 g/t Au and 249 g/t Ag. Upside’s 2025 field program subsequently returned grab sample values of up to 26.1 g/t Au and 179 g/t Ag from the two known adits in the area. There is no known historical drilling at Euphrates. For this follow-up program, focus will be on evaluating the widths and additional sampling the altered and sulphidic rocks of the adjacent wall rocks to the veins which reported values of up to 4.1 g /t Au and 6.9 g/t Ag from the 2025 Upside program, and to investigate and sample additional known mineralized workings in the area.

The Venus-Juno, Three Friends and the northwest extent of the Kena Gold area were initially reviewed and visited by the field team during June this year prior to the commencement of the drilling program. Collected surface lithological samples were submitted for analyses pending completion and report.

At the Venus-Juno claims, which was added to Upside’s land position in earlier this year, historical records report production of approximately 5,411 tonnes averaging 19.8 g/t Au and 17.7 g/t Ag. Work will entail field evaluation and further sampling of its exposures to define new drill targets. Other historically neglected showings within the Venus-Juno claims will also be prospected and chip sampled including the historic abandoned Birds Eye Adit hosting multiple altered >1m thick sulphidic quartz veins.

Field work will also advance the Three Friends prospect whereupon the initial June visit identified additional adits and workings not documented in historical documents. Field work will include prospecting with soil and chip sampling over the area.

The northwestern extent of the Kena Gold Zone will be prospected and field evaluated as part of the Company’s broader target-generation strategy focusing on following up on its defined extensive strong Au soil anomalies and the documentation of multiple pit workings located in the area.

“With drilling now complete, we intend to make the most of the remaining field season and keep advancing Kena,” said Sophy Cesar, CEO and Director of Upside Gold. “Drill core logging is ongoing, and additional samples being prepared and submitted for analysis. Our exploration team is now focused on several prospective areas across the Project as we continue building our pipeline of future drill targets. With field exploration underway and the updated resource estimate targeted for Q1 2027, there’s a lot happening across Kena as we move the Project forward.”

Dr. Trevor Boyd, P.Geo., Vice President, Exploration of Upside Gold, added: “Euphrates, Venus-Juno, Three Friends and the northwestern Kena Gold Zone each provide a strong geological rationale for further field and geochemical evaluation. This program is designed to refine our understanding of these areas and prioritize the most prospective targets for future follow-up and potential drilling.”

Logging and sampling of drill core from the Company’s recently completed expanded 2026 diamond drilling program remains ongoing, with samples continuing to be submitted for analysis. Results will be released as they are received, reviewed and interpreted.

About Upside Gold Corp.

Upside Gold Corp. is a Canadian gold-copper exploration company that has entered into an option agreement to acquire a 100% interest in the Kena Gold-Copper Project, located in southeastern British Columbia, approximately 7 kilometres southwest of Nelson. The Kena Project consists of 207 mineral claims and 11 crown grants covering 10,578 hectares.

The Corporation is focused on advancing the Kena Gold-Copper Project through systematic exploration and drilling programs.

*The Kena Project hosts a historical gold resource comprising an Indicated Mineral Resource of 32,146,000 tonnes at an average grade of 0.544 g/t Au for 0.561 million ounces of gold, and an Inferred Mineral Resource of 177,507,000 tonnes at an average grade of 0.486 g/t Au for 2.77 million ounces of gold. The historical resource estimate is disclosed in the technical report entitled “NI 43-101 Resource Estimate for the Kena and Daylight Properties” prepared by Sue Bird, P.Eng. of Moose Mountain Technical Services, dated May 3, 2021, and filed on SEDAR on behalf of West Mining Corp.

A Qualified Person, as defined by National Instrument 43-101, has not done sufficient work to classify the historical estimate as current mineral resources, and Upside Gold Corp. is not treating the historical estimate as current mineral resources. The historical estimate is provided for information purposes only and should not be relied upon. Additional drilling and technical work will be required to verify the historical estimate as a current mineral resource . The historical estimate uses the categories set out in section 1.2 of the NI-43-101. The parameters and assumptions used are outlined in Bird 2021 and are provided as follows:

1. Resources are reported using the 2014 CIM Definition Standards and were estimated using the 2019 CIM Best Practices Guidelines.

2. Mineral Resources that are not Mineral Reserves do not have demonstrated economic viability.

3. The Mineral Resource has been confined by a “reasonable prospects of eventual economic extraction” pit using the following assumptions: US $2,000/oz. Au at a currency exchange rate of 0.77 US$ per $CDN; 99.95% payable Au; $4.30/oz Au offsite costs (refining, transport and insurance); a 3% NSR royalty; and uses an 88% metallurgical recovery for gold.

4. Pit slope angles are assumed at 45º.

5. The specific gravity of the deposit has been assigned as 2.8 based on sg measurements in the Kena deposit.
